Red Ribbon Week - 2018
Red Ribbon Week at Meridian - October 22nd - 26th
Monday (22nd) COLOR ME...Drug and Alcohol Free (Say No to Drugs and Alcohol) Students and teachers choosing to be drug/alcohol free colored and decorated a hand and pasted their hand on a poster which said "Hand in Hand, We Take a Stand." Students were encouraged to dress in crazy colors.
Tuesday (23rd) COLOR ME...KIND (Don't Be a Bully). A skittles treat was passed out to all students with the message Color Me Kind. Students were encouraged to dress in their favorite color.
Wednesday (24th) COLOR ME...HELPFUL (Be involved in school, community, state, and country).... National Guard will be here to present the program HEAR (Helping Everyone Achieve Respect) to the high school student and then to the elementary. Students were encouraged to dress in red, white, and blue.
Thursday (25th) COLOR ME...HEALTHY (Be active every day)...We will do exercises throughout the morning and help cheer on the football team to a victory at State Football. Students were encouraged to dress in Red, White, Black to support our Meridian Mustangs Football Team.
Special thanks to the Elks / Country Store who donated five gift cards and to the M-PIE organization who gave a monetary donation towards prizes and candy treats for the week. Also a special thanks to the FBLA who furnished bottled water for our healthy day.
